The paper titledΒ β€œNovel ML-Assisted Optical Equalization Photonic Integrated Circuit for High-Speed IM/DD Systems” will be presented at theΒ OFC 2025! This research is part of theΒ PICabooΒ andΒ SPRINTERΒ projects, which aim to push the boundaries of photonic integrated circuits and high-speed optical communications.

πŸ“…Β Presentation Day and Time:
April 2, 2025, 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM PDT

πŸ“Β Session Information:

  • Session Abbreviation:Β W4H
  • Session Title:Β Machine Learning DSP
  • Session Time:Β 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM PDT
  • Location:Β Room 215 (Level 2)

In our work, we demonstrate an innovative InP equalization circuit capable of compensating for bandwidth limitations and dispersion in high-speed IM/DD systems. Powered by a blind ML-based optimizer, this approach outperforms digital FFE at 50 Gb/s over 10km. πŸŒπŸ“‘

The paper is co-authored byΒ George Brestas,Β Giannis Kanakis,Β Maria Spyropoulou, Christophe Caillaud, Giancarlo Cerulo, Vladyslav Vakarin, Mokhtar Korti, Christoph FΓΌllner, Robert Borkowski, Alessandro Aimone, Rene Bonk andΒ Hercules Avramopoulos.

We are excited to share the latest advancements with the community and engage in discussions about how this work could drive the future of high-speed optical communications!
